That's the correct pronounciation but I think everyone is free to pronounce it the way they want..there's no native speaker alive to correct you after all =) and it's true that latin is spoken differently in different European countries, people tend to add to the latin pronounciation peculiar characteristics of their own languages.

Well, I think us Europeans need to learn at least 2 or more languages to be able to communicate with each other, and since the EU was established relationships between the European countries are even more frequent. In the U.S., except for Spanish, I think it would be only a matter of "personal knowledge" =) after all your language is widely spoken all over the world (personally I'm learning British English and that's the one most people learn in Europe, but I don't think that would represent an obstacle to comprehension).

Ironically I didn't choose my profession. Someone noticed my online portfolio on a school webproject, contacted me and offered me the job (webdesigner/translator). It's a part time job, which means I have enough time to study. This is not what I'm planning to do for the rest of my life though..=| What am I planning to do in the future, then? It may sound weird but I don't know yet, the only certain thing is the field in which I'd like to operate, but it's all hypotetical.
