    Joey Ramone

    Very well done R.I.P. Joey
  2. They're kinda one and the same...in fact, I can't tell the difference, esp. since Johnny Marr usually played on Morrissey's solo tracks. Go fig. If we go 80s synth-pop or alternative/progressive/modern rock (depending on what it was called in your area), then I would suggest any of the following: The Cure New Order Joy Division The Smiths Morrissey The Clash (a bit of punk never hurt anyone, right?) Depeche Mode (before Violator) Erasure (less depressing, but definitely of the era...Chorus is a fav CD) And there are so many others...and I'm blanking...but that's a starter list. I would add the stone roses, the charlatans and new order to the list =) (Madchester?who said Madchester? ) By the way, I got to listen to some samples off the new charlatans album "simpatico" (lol), it seems pretty good. lol Mozza lives in Rome now
  3. Places I've been and I'd recommend..well, Pompeii, Villa Adriana, Italica (Andaluc
  4. As far as I remember Il cantico del frate sole (or Laudes Creaturarum) was composed in the XIII century. I believe there have been other literary compositions before that, the so called
  5. Roma, Via del Tritone (end of 1880s) Pantheon Pilgrimage in S.Peter (1869) Piazza Venezia ..and a very very different Termini Station
  6. wow, very beautiful place
  7. So what you're implying is that the money coming from the Colosseum/forum/Domus Aurea tickets -alone- should be sufficient to preserve and maintain the artistic and historical heritage of Roma? Roma is not just the Palatine, it is also Middle Ages, Rinascimento, Barocco, and so on. Let alone museums, art galleries and such. The entrance to the Pantheon is free and so the one to the forum-related museums and a thousand other cultural sites. That is also because Roma is not an open air museum, there are people who actually live in the city.
  8. Indeed, these backup scripts are great =)
  9. Traffic is exasperating me to the point that I am seriously considering the hang-glider option...lol
  10. Attending undergraduate, one year left before I get my glorious yet useless degree

Wow! These are very beautiful sculptures, I suppose it
  14. I totally understand you =|. I usually spend less than 500 euros per semester on books, the relieving thing is that university fees are ridiculous here, the average expenditure is approximately 750 euros a year (but I have the feeling things won't remain like this for a long time..).
  15. Same, I also have a quite ridiculous lepidopters phobia..I don't really know where it came from
  16. I just realized what I was referring to exists only in Italy..forget my previous post =/
  17. It was confirmed that there are other tombs next to it and they will be opened soon, they surely have other surprises in store for us . I
  18. Yes, no doubt that the first meaning of Senatus Populusque Romanus had that connotation =) Populus probably derived from the Etruscan word *puple, literally
  19. Meshuggah..erm..LOL? Anyway, I found a lot of interesting live performances on google video, it's an excellent tool =)
  20. This one lasts "a bit more" *coughs* but it's definitely worth it..G3 liveeee http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3...&q=joe+satriani
  21. Oh well, you didn't miss much really..apart for some kid playing hide and seek and learning where the word "cardiovascular" comes from. lol.
  22. I don't care in the slightest really, but thanks for the thoughtful post anyway.
  23. Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, the pencils get a work out for sure! I've got serious calluses as well. My index & middle finger is usually numb when I complete one of these. So far, Prismapencils are the only ones that give me that thick greasy color. Others come out too crayony for what I try to accomplish with colored pencils. I'll post more soon. I too have the issue that many are in frames. BTW... does anyone know their Rune Stones? Very nice work, I like the colours combination and the "runic theme" =) by the way..thdjp? ...or maybe thjdp?lol I have a superficial knowledge of the ancient and new Futhark and the English runic alphabet, I guess I can consider myself an erilaR
