  1. It was Aelia Flavia Flaccilla. Anyway, was mine too hard?
  2. About 2 km, the Tavole Palatine about 5 km.
  3. deleted, already mentioned above.
  4. Sure thing, but it's going to be a really short visit, it may not work out.
  5. Nice review Klingan. I'll finally get to see it myself in a few weeks, and now I've got high expectations.
  6. Taranto has a part of the temple preserved and a good museum, if it's not still being renovated. Lecce should be on the list, and for non-Roman purposes so should Bari and Matera. The archaeological sites away from the cities can be frustrating to get to if you don't have a car. Nevertheless, Egnazia, Monte Sannace, Metaponto and Sibari are not to be missed. I believe Crotone and Locri are worth the trip as well, but I've never been there. Finally, there's the museum at Reggio.
  7. Italy is not far away. Many people left this region for Italy, and still do.
  8. You're not seeing it in this picture, but it's nearby.
  9. Been there, too. Beautiful little place, six or seven Roman gates that I wouldn't all have recognized, but this one is the first you see coming off the train.
  10. Well done! How could you tell?
