Hi. I use the name 'Eborius' to indicate my location, near York, England, my birthplace as a Yorkshireman, and my interest in all things Roman. I am a proffesional archaeologist and have excavated on many Roman sites, mostly in northern England, and in Scotland, but have worked on sites of all periods.

I prefer Roman military sites, and I have a special interest in

coins, and have made a particular study of these.

I am disturbed by the many errors and misconceptions about the past, especially about the Romans, propergated to the general public, sometimes by eminent persons, periodicals and the general media, films etc.
