    I wouldn't know what the best book is. I learned from Ecce Romani series. But I honestly didn't learn anything till I got into major translations like Cicero, Catullus and Caesar.

    I've yet to see Alexander. But I can't wait to see it. As soon as I have some free time, I plan on catching it

    I noticed that many people on the forum are interested in learning latin. I thought it might be a good idea to open a thread for questions about the Latin language. Or maybe one specifically for helping our members learn the language? Just an idea.

    About what time did the Romans start using long swords? Was it after the advent of the calvary? I imagine it would be terribly inefficient to use a short sword while on a horse.

    I got: 1. Marcus Aurelius 2. Nero (From MA to Nero? That's a bit of a stretch...i think) 3. Seneca 4. Cato Major 5. Martialis Julius Caesar is my #9. I was hoping for Catullus but he's freaking #12. Caesar Augustus is #16. The Gracchi are #23. And Lucretius brings up the rear at #24.

    I'd be willing to work with ya warrior. I think it would be an excellent idea to have a pinned thread or forum dedicated to the teaching of Latin. I would offer my services in that area if needed

    Wow a modernize version of Latin! That's great. I love latin and I would love to see it revived. I plan on teaching as much of it as possible to my children (when I have them ). I'm all for a Latin resurgance. I'm going to be tutoring some people in Latin starting in January. Anyone know of some helpful resources? They will be learning from the Ecce Romani series. I have the teacher suppliments for the series along with my own copy of Wheelock. Is there anything else I should get? I have a dictionary but I probably should get a new one.

    Though I would love to live in Europe (I live in Ireland for 3 months one summer), I really would love to live in Brazil. My parents are planning on moving there and I'm hoping to jump down there once I finish my last semester of college to try to see if I can get a job teaching English or Latin down there.

    Household Gods?

    I was curious as to whether or not anyone has ever read Household Gods by Harry Turtledove and someone else. I can't remember her name right now. I was wondering what you thought of it. I found it absolutely enthralling.
