  1. You must be familiar with Massive Attack? Some of the music I've been enjoying lately: Red Sparowes http://www.redsparowes.com/mp3s/Alone_and_unaware.mp3 Porcupine Tree ISIS Front Line Assembly Opeth Neurosis early Delerium Agalloch Katatonia DJ Sasha Kyuss Morgion Quite a few of these are dark or heavy, so they may not be to your tastes.
  2. The foundation of plant domestication developed in the Middle East during the Younger Dryas, about 10,800 - 9,600 BC which is right about 12,000 years ago. There was so much climatic turmoil during that period that I have a hard time believing that a previously unknown civilization, far more advanced than that of those in the Middle East built a 100 meter high pyramid in Bosnia. The first farmers to even settle Greece only arrived about 7,000 BC. Prior to that there were only hunter-gatherers living in caves or huts.
  3. To recap my month... I read Choke by Chuck Palahniuk and The Informers by Bret Easton Ellis. I enjoyed Choke more than most of the books I've been reading lately. I've been slowly reading my way through The Virtue of Selfishness by Ayn Rand for several months and pondering it while working during the day. I've also been slowly completing After the Ice by Steven Mithen. I would highly recommend this book to anyone curious about human pre-history. I've spent copious hours of my free time working in Photoshop on a super-duper not-so-secret project. The more I work on it, the more excited I get about it. This also involves a lot of reading and research and mostly pestering PP for information... And my birthday... if people didn't remind me, I'd probably have forgotten about it. To my delight, the wifey got me a 19" LCD monitor and a Microsoft Natural Comfort Wireless Desktop to make my time working on the computer easier and more enjoyable. I find this highly ironic because my computer is her biggest rival for my attention...

    Pendragon

I thought it was a real treat to find the story depicted in something other than fantasy. In fact, I never felt as if I was reading a King Arthur story, but rather a completely new and realistic historical fiction version set in post-Roman Britain.
  7. 'Citizen' rank is not earned by post count. You can make 1,000 posts but it wil not entitle you to anything besides a rank title different from the one before it. Citizens have Blog and Gallery access, they were given this access solely upon the decision of the admins.

    Pendragon

I will second Jack Whyte's Camulod Chronicles, I devoured those books in a rabid frenzy, although I've been lagging on reading the latest one... mostly because I havent found a paperback. I've read a few of Lawhead's books, but not the Pendragon Cycle (didn't interest me) and I have to say that I liked his Song of Albion trilogy immensely, however this was when I was 14 and I don't know how well it would measure up to a mature reader's tastes.
