  1. I'm going to make a guess to get this thing going again. Is it Sbeitla?
  2. Yes you're right, it is Gariannonum. Where will you take us next?
  3. It's not Silchester. Nor is it Richborough but you're right Melvadius it is in the east.
  4. It's neither caistor nor lympne but you're in the right area.
  5. Lincoln is a lovely city. I had a great time touring the Roman sites but would have taken you up on your offer if I had known. Next time! Though spring has sprung here, I'm off to snowy Calgary for a few days but I should be able to monitor any guesses for my submission:
  6. That is very gentlemanly of you Mr. Ghost. Thank you. And it is indeed an easy one because I walked through this arch just last fall. It's the Newport Arch in Lincoln, England.
  7. I've been away and it doesn't look like anyone is playing any more. Do you have any hints Aurelia?
  8. I'll get this started with a wild guess. Is it in Germany?
  9. Congrats Melvadius - it is Priene.
  10. Not Antioch or Aphrodisias. Here is a clue - it is not far from Pythagoras' island.
  11. It's not Sardis but you're in the right country.
  12. I loved the video! When I took Latin I remember asking my professor how we knew how to pronounce it and he said texts survived with pronounciation lessons (though I didn't see them so can't cite them). Anyway here are my comments (for what they're worth keeping in mind I'm Canadian and don't understand why you have inserted "r's" into the words ) on pronounciations that Ghost of Clayton put up: Arbeia: My guess is 'Ar' - 'BAYer' (to rhyme with 'sayer' as in 'soothsayer'). Stress on the 'bay' - I would say Ar-BAY-a Segedunum: Say - Gay - DOON - oom - sounds good Condercum: Con - DER - coom - con-der-COOM Vindobala: Window - BAR - la - win-dow-BA-la Onnum: On - oom - sounds good Cilernum: Key - LEARN - oom (I've also heard it start with a first syllable rhyming with 'eye') - I think I'd go with the eye sound Vircovicium: Work - oh - WE - see - oom - Wir-co-we-KEY-oom Aesica: I - SEEK - a (I've heard this one pronounded EE - sick
  13. Not Italy, it's in the other direction.
  14. It's great to discover all these new places with Roman ruins that I didn't know about. I'm looking forward to visiting one day. Here is a place I did visit last spring:
  15. one more guess before you post another picture - Mirobriga Portugal?
