  1. Wow, this interview was really interesting. I haven't actually read the last (so far) of the Gate of Rome series, it's still sat on my bookshelf waiting for its turn. I enjoyed the previous books though, and now I'm looking forward to the Khan books.

I've read the Eagles series as far as it goes, too, and I have to agree, they're brilliant. Macro is such a loveable rogue! I can't wait for the next one, I think they're wonderful...curious as to what's happening next....wish there was some way to find out!
  3. I'm an undergrad at Reading University studying Classics and literally just sitting around waiting for graduation now. Less than a month until graduation now, it's getting exciting! I'm doing a Classics MA at Durham Uni next year, which will be wonderful because I'll be able to commute instead of living over three hundred miles away from home. I hail from Newcastle when not at university, and live less than ten miles away from Wallsend, (the uh...wall's end) Segedunum and Arbeia (the two fort-museums nearby). It's nice to find a place like this...and although I'd like to think that I may have something immeasurably wonderful to add to your discussions, I'm already awed by what I've read. I think I may be the quiet one who sits and listens more than anything else. Looking forward to it!
  4. Such an apt description. Ah, definately can't disagree with that! I've read the first three of Iguldden's books, and I liked them. The fourth is sat on my bookshelf waiting its turn. They are definately not bound tightly with history, but hey...they're novels. They're fun. And they can help you while away a five hour train journey. They're worth a read IMO, but don't expect too much. The bit that really irritated me was the way that Brutus and Caesar grew up together...what?!? Now come on, I've read some random things in my time, but...heck! A whole new level of weird idea.
  5. Wow - I got all ten! I'm amazed at myself - I took Beginner's Latin at the start of my degree but ended up just leaving it at that... Greek is much more my bag!
