  1. Yes yes, one or two good looking girls there are indeed! I tell you though, this is nothing compared to the party's More albums will come with time Gaius, no worries! Btw I would like to promote my Christmas avatar at this time! Merry Christmas everyone!
  2. The number above corresponds well with most of the numbers I've come across. Of course it's very dependent on the time period.
  3. That's rather cool! Do you know if there's anything like this for stonehenge?
  4. A very interesting way to practice the lead plate curse!
  5. I have now signed up for a course in Latin for next semester. And "experimental archeology", "Ancient culture and social life D essay" and "the Etruscans". I'm so dead. Just curious however Whitewolf, where do you live to pick between French and Japanese?
  6. Do they take Maestro or will I have to borrow a Visa from a relative?
  7. This must the the worst title ever I've come across. It's even more misleading then the hobbit! Good catch thou Mel!
  8. Thanks! That's the rough estimates I needed. I will see how much money I can get my hands on during the next months and tell you guys asap if I'm coming. How long before the date should the hotel etc preferably be booked?
  9. I have never heard of that and to be honest it sounds very very strange. How early are we talking about here?
  10. Just wondering about how much you people believe this will cost? (Hotel/food/travel through England etc, I have absolutely no clue how much such thing cost over there.). Just a very rough number would be appreciated. I'm going to see if I can make up some cash somehow.
  11. He.y he wants us all to worship him, some physical evidence would do just the trick I believe.
  12. Large parts of Rome, specially the hills are made out of Tufa. It's an excellent building material and I reckon that some larger preroman (I can't remember if they were etruscan) burial complexes were build in tufa hills. I've got a map covering it somewhere here. As for reading up on domes (as I will do even with your ideas Faustus, just out of my own curiosity), I'll see if I can find that after Friday.
  13. We're talking about the largest dome ever built in antiquity, I really really get the feeling that they had a great deal of experience by then. I will take a look at it after Friday.
  14. Well "should focus" wouldn't be right, you should pick whatever period that you're interested in. It's a easy was to do it however to pick Augustus propaganda since it's a well explored subject already. You will have a very hard time finding anything new from it, depending on your level of ambition.
  15. Well you've been around for a few weeks now Mel but welcome I guess I've got the feeling that we'll have alot of interesting discussions with you! Already a Equisterian by the way? Working fast now are we
  16. Well I've not checked this but I somehow get the feeling that the Pantheon wasn't really the first doom they built, just the largest. Also consider that it's much easier to build a dome inside an existing structure (Aka a cave roof in this example).
  17. Great news but unfortunately they're not THAT new.. Anyway there is some new information and a few pictures so all in all it's really nice!
  18. Getting inspiration for a sci-fi law in a book about the decline of the Roman Empire hardly enforce you to follow that series of events by the letter. Both MPC and Kosmo have good points. Oh the law itself and the idea is most likely to be total bollocks even in theory.
  19. Asimove have very many good point throughout his books, this is probably one of them. It's a pure joy reading them finding one bright idea/theory after another.
  20. Turning into a RTW discussion hmm... Anyway how can you run out of cash longshotgene? I've finished (as in conquered the world finished) the game twice in the original form (Hard difffiulty) and once with Total realism and I never had any that serious income problems. The game is made to give you an uncertain income (as the income would have been back then). It's all in taking out maximum tax in every city keeping them yellow Anyway on the Arcani matter. They're bad yes. So are the burning pigs, they were really freaking me out. But why was catapults removed in the TR mod? I somehow always had the feeling that the romans had access to that kind of technology.
