  1. Right, that does it: you're all in my Black Book. Come the revolution ... :wacko:/>/>/> Easy Sonic. We all Apollo-gize. I think you have to call him and say that Per-ze-phone...
  2. Not. Should read the last post first, before doing anything stupid. I'm tempted to save you from this embarrassment. But just tempted
  3. Are you sure? The stone seems far too coarse and gray to me, the capital leafs too stylized and the masonry looks very un-roman.
  4. I was actually thinking more Hannibal - the whole revenge, total destruction and ultimate defeat seems to fit better, although there were (of course) other very significant areas where the two differ.
  5. The question is, who dares to add Hitler into the mix? I'm absolutely sure that Plutarch would have, had he lived today...
  6. Not to mention Sir Moses Finley who even had to flee the USA because of his political views.
  7. I haven't listened to it yet, but Marxist theoretical view points are gaining popularity in all humanist arts at the moment. We'll see more and more of this the next couple of years.
  8. I must refer you to our admin for this question and he can be difficult to reach lately - but he will answer as soon as he can. Just PM Viggen on these boards. And welcome by the way! I've already got the map and it is a great resource! You'll love it
  9. Just a short notice: please remember to keep this thread on topic. We will not let it slide into a religious debate. The Legati
  10. I really need to visit the sites in the UK (or well, the UK in general) some day, I am completely lost when it comes to what you lads have over there....
  11. I'm going to be bold enough to guess that this is somewhere in the UK.
  12. Bloody hell, that is just unfair
  13. Well, did you see the helmet that Gaul was wearing, looking like something from the 16th century? :P/>
  14. Thank you very much for posting this and thanks to the spam bot for bumping it I am very grateful for all documentaries posted on these boards. If anyone else decides to watch this, please have a look at this thread regarding the battle of Gergovia, which is dealt with very briefly in the documentary.
  15. I could fancy giving it a try, but I would be even more interested in playing wordfeud (or other scrabbles like game) in German with someone!
  16. Naaww... That was far too easy But then again, it is nice to see the thread running again!
  17. Wait...You're trying to say that they DIDNT find a unicorn lair...?
  18. Archaeologists of the History Institute of the DPRK Academy of Social Sciences have recently reconfirmed a lair of the unicorn rode by King Tongmyong, founder of the Koguryo Kingdom. Read more here.
  19. And how did I miss to do that while I guessed... I'm getting old and slow.
  20. The sad part is that it is a great reminder of how (western) euro centered we are.
  21. My humor seems to have fallen flat, I won't quit my day job. Anyway I'd love to watch other members do the same, easier for the Y'rpeans of course, not a lot of Roman ruins in the U.S. There's still a ton of stuff that I would love to see a short video about! I mean, not only the many monuments inspired by Roman ideals, but things like the Nashville Parthenon and such! But yeah I guess, at the end of the day, we do have an advantage on this side of the pond.
  22. I really like it! A lot! May I ask when we can find this book in the stores? Or if the site will be able to review it?
