  2. Docoflove, they arent speaking italian!!! They're speaking something weird and it's hard for me to understand them. Gaius, i understand what "Bel 'e mom, i crede che tu si bel. Biondina, te piace assai" means. -.- ma io non sono bionda. capisci se parlo cos
  3. OMG what's happening here??? are you drunk??? Gaius i dont understand your dialect. i've understand this But, if you speak this dialect, can you speak italian or not?
  4. i know it will be hard. But i'm really motivated and this is my dream. I think i shouldnt have problems with the grammar. Norwegian isnt more difficult than german. And about pronunciation, it's surely hard, but not impossible. Naples' dialect it's weird!!! I can understand dialects of northern Italy. I can understand almost everything of Milan's one, but i'm not able to speak it. I can't speak dialects, i only understand them...
  5. You're welcome Ozymandias! Where do you come from exactly? I love France you see. je suis tr
  6. yes i am. I dont like finnish, but i'm looking forward to learn norwegian. It isnt such a difficult language. After, i'd like to learn swedish...
  7. Come on deusvitae345, it isnt a difficult translation...you can do it... try, and if you're wrong, we'll correct and help you.
  8. ah ah right, here shool ended saturday and i'm on holiday 'till september...is someone there who wants to translate about 15 passages for me?
  9. i tihink it's from a school-book, too much simple, you can understand everything without using the vocaboulary na dit sounds very similar to my homework.
  10. Do you mean Ancient Greek or...simply Greek?
  11. i got 10/10!!! i'm not lying... I started this yeatr to study latin, but this test, honestly, it's like a little game. childlish. You should see the school tests i have to pass...
  12. Hannibal? do you mean THAT Hannibal?! OMG! i want to see it! why do i live in Italy????!!! I watched Rome too, but it was a cut version and i'm very disappointed. Anyway, i lvoe it! ^^
  13. It's strange to say Docloflove, but you've been studying italian more years than me! I'm 15. I've been studying english and french for 4 years, italian for 9 and my dream is to learn norwegian or swedish. Everyone loves languages here ^^
  14. I'm from a small village near Milan (or near Como's Lake, if you prefer), Italy.
  15. Fortuna, Virtus. And Mater Matuta (i like the name )
  16. Smart granparents I can understand the Milanese dialect and most part of the northern ones. If I hear someone speaking in Milanese, for example, i understand alla what's saying, but i could never repeat those words. how long have you been studying italian?
  17. a "french r", right. For this problem i cant spell english with the correct pronunciation, but thanks to this i can speak french as a true french Aboute dialects. Young people like me dont speak dialects anymore. I live in the northern Italy, and i cant understand many dialects of the south. So, i can image how hard it's for a foreigner understand us. ^^
  18. About the -r-, i've got a problem with it. No idea of the english way to call my problem of pronunciation, maybe Silentium can help me... (non avrei mai pensato di trovarci un altro italiano...! Sai come si traduce in inglese "r moscia"? ^^ ). is it so difficult to say "gli"?
  19. You're right, we havent -ae- or -oe- but their sound it's the modern italian "e". About the hard "C", we have it, as you say, in -ca-, -co-, -cu- but also in chi- and che-. About the latin -ti (like in DIVITIAE") became -zi-, a sound that i think doesnt exist in english. Every italian, if he learns this, can read latin, even a child. PS I study latin (let's say i'm forced to study it about 2-3 hours in a day), french and english. But i study them only from few years, so, please, forgive me if i make grammar mistakes. If i say you how old i am, you could be surprise i know a language like latin
  20. if you know italian, latin pronunciations is the easiest thing in the world. I can say it 'cause i'm italian, and to read latin is like to reas anything else in my own language. There are some differeces, but they're very little. If anyone needs help with pronunciation or translation, i'm here
  21. well, i think something's wrong...i think the correct translation is this: ANGELAE PULCHRAE MEAE, MAXIME AMO. LUX VITAE MEAE ET DELICATA FLOS QUAE SOLE FLORIT ES. and... NON POSSUM VITAE MEA SINE TE CREDERE.
  22. Hi guys, this is my first post here, i'm sorry if my english isnt always correct, it isnt my own language... I'm very young and i'm studying roman history just now, and i study latin aswell. Well, you talked a lot about Scipio and the Punic Wars, I agree, he was great...but...what about Quintus Fabius Maximus called "Cunctator"? His way to fight saved Rome in the Second Punic War... and what about the Seven Kings? Some of them really existed.
