  1. You should see the games he plays with my mind...
  2. I read an interesting tidbit about a campaign conducted by Lucius Verus in the east. I know the Romans used huge burn piles in every city to ward off disease in times such as described above. What were some other anti-disease measure the Romans took?
  3. I must go for the Battle of Britain only because I know very little of the others save the Spanish Armada option. Now my goal is to read about every option on there!
  4. In times of war and uncertainty the government always becomes mildly oppressive. Let's all look at Somolia. That's messed up. When the 'government' there kills U.N. peacekeepers to steal the food aid to become stronger, you know there are problems.
  5. Actually you are a Tribunus Laticlavius. Why is everyone calling Cuba a socialist country? It is very far from that! I call it fascism, the CIA factbook calls it communism. The Cuban regime is a little too harsh to be considered socialist... and it is a joke that it is still called the republic of Cuba...
  6. If that is in fact a fortlet I assume you will try yo find the port facility as well?
  7. Well... ahem... *cough* I didn't exactly... *cough* I didn't say anything... You get my drift. I'ma gunna make ya somethin' with some of your fractals.
  8. 'Tis very nice. Pm it to Viggen and it may just pop up on the front page!
  9. I use Photoshop CS2. I found that pic of the legionnaire on the internet somewhere and cut him out of the picture. Google images is my hero.
  10. It has come to my attention that out dear senator Octavian is lusting over my 'freedom babe'. I shall let my fellow Romans decide her fate.
  11. I knew that. I googled Ginerva. I daresay you better vote at the poll in the baths forum regarding this matter!
  12. If you ever want me to make something for you just hollar.
  13. You force me to google, Oh! But to no avail!
  14. I can see that. I've read about which leg is in front before, I just forgot. In any case, in the post-marian army the centurions were probably the only ones with greaves, like in pertinax's photos.
  15. The way you say it makes it sound bad. If the Romans were that far North, they would probably know the coastline though. My first guess would be boat, the fortlet is a mile from the coast, and if there really is a fortlet there the buried port would be nearby.
  16. Then either I was thinking of Republican triarii or men in the phalanxes, or both. I was thinking of the republican army! I knew the post-marian legions didn't use greaves. Was the left leg the foreward one? I forgot...
  17. I thought Judaism was monotheistic, the ancient Jews (Nero perscuted them) believed in one god, and resistance to Romanization led to the Jewish Wars during the reign of Vespasian.
  18. So then how would you expect them to get supplies? If there should be a port as you said, and that is illimitless unknown ocean... would they get supplies by oxcart? The camp is inside Hadrian's wall but unless you know the time period we can't be certain how safe that area is.
  19. That would be awesome. I would never miss that. Better start saving up...
  20. Due to my lacking of a blog, I shall post here. This news is hot off CNN. Overnight the U.S. senate gave themselves a 'small' $30,000 raise to their salaries. Minimum wage has been the same for a decade... What do you think? Now all we need is for the Delta Force to appoint our presidents.
  21. Unless I'm thinking of the republican army, didn't they always wear a greave on just the right leg- the one extended?
  22. *Sigh* I wanna come... but I fear a teenager landlocked in the northcentral United States won't make it. Perhaps there will be more get-togethers? I'll be 18 in two years, increasing my chances exponentially.
