  1. That is soooo cool! I bookmarked the camera page!
  2. To add to what Ursus said, it was more psychological because at the time I believe there were 25 legions. A considerable loss but not empire-threatening. He raised two more but it was a very unpopular move. Ursus, you're probably right, but didn't the huns initially push many of the tribes together and towards Roman boundaries?
  3. Second edit and special thanks to Gaius Octavius for a great job editing my inglish. Not quite done yet. If anyone reads this and finds an error PLEASE post it.
  4. This should belong in the FAQ section. http://www.gfx-masters.com/Forum/Extra_fil...les/Posting.swf
  5. That stuff grows in my yard like a weed. Don't let your doggy eat it!
  6. Pertinax, how do the ancient medicines and modern ones compare in effectiveness?
  7. I've played this game in and out, but how do you capture legionary standards? Do you have to kill a whole Legionary First Cohort, or is it by chance, or do you have to rout the whole army?
  8. I am a master of the manipulation of electrons. :notworthy: :king: :notworthy: Sorry Pertinax for my unrelated posts... hehe
  9. If the people are happy with what they have I can't complain for them unless their suffering is obvious.
  10. I know it probably would not be in Britain. It is somewhere very close to or in Italy. It was a farm. I had some limited info from a text file but it disappeared. I'm looking really hard for it.
  11. You people can do magical things with plants, but I can make **** appear!
  12. Does anyone know of an ancient place called Southwater? I heard it was a large farm that burned down, and I guess it affected a lot of people. I did a skim for links but didn't find anything.
  13. Brand, C.E. "Roman Military Law." C1966 UTexas Printing Div. Austin TX Great section on forts, their layout and construction.
  14. Little kids are sooo cute. Especially that one.
  15. Ack, don't be afraid. If you already know something as complex as latin and greek, and vietnamese, it shouldn't be too hard for you now. I bet you'll do just fine!
  16. Crassus didn't listen to the advice from the natives. If he would have listened and taken a different route like he was told, he probably would have won the war. Listen to the natives! You won't get gold poured down your throat!
  17. All this botany is quite interesting. Great link too.
  18. To add to Primus' perhaps the fact that there was emperor worship help justify in who they now worshipped. Nero, or [enter name here] for that matter made a good devil.
  19. I think that's the way to go, though. I read the account of Josephus on the Siege of Masada. Long winded, lofty words. It was kind of dull. Take note the leader of the resistance was Eleazar. Josephus really doesn't describe him at all. Modern interpreters collect from many sources and package it all into one bundle. Watching a history channel documentary I got the bio of Josephus, Eleazar, Silva, with Josphuses' story and doubts on certain aspects of it. I am also using the backward technique.
