  1. Actually, the afore mentioned did not bother to act funny at all, the only thing he did was print off an article off the internet (monkeys can be trained to fly spaceships! ) and insult the school band.
  2. People piss me off. Now I know why I usually work alone. Let's just say there is no "Antiochus does the whole project by himself" in GROUP PROJECT!!! Lately all these little things are bugging the hell outta me and people are so %*#$ing retarded, and it's adding up into one melancholic cynical pissed off panda. Me. Fortunately I'm feeling better now, as I've already fermented away my hatred for humanity and some other good things happened. Ok. I'm better now.
  3. Watch the news, ppl are actively voting against the current nut in office, and even burned his picture during one of his holocaust-never-happened lectures. Hurrah!
  4. Nothing interesting happens where I live. Well, sometimes there is, but it is usually bad, and happens to me.
  5. Good, then I can squeeze them into diamonds. Hmph. Well, I guess I deserve it... I am pretty naughty...
  6. Actually, technically it is better to eat something more closely related to you, it is easier on digestion. I'll spare the biological lecture. For a civilization such as the Romans, with the different foods they were able to obtain, it is hard to see them accepting cannibalism.
  7. According to my notes, a pilum had a maximum range of approximately 30 yds (27 meters). You would also have to throw it pretty dang hard to get it to go that far, too. Go measure out 100 meters and see if anyone can throw a 4 foot weighted javalin that far!
  8. Coincidentally, I just read this a few minutes ago from my Roman Law book: Basically it is quite evident that they have more responsibilities than follow Consuls around, they also protect and signify the power of religious icons too.
  9. 4:27 AM April 12, 1861- Bombardment of Fort Sumter, Civil War Begins Abraham Lincoln and the Union War Office turn down an offer from the King of Siam, a pack of war elephants! July 2nd, 1863- Second day in the Battle of Gettysburg: In charge if one of the flanks in Gettysburg, Chamberlain used a tactic "He learned while studying Roman history". It was Chamberlain and his "swinging gate" tactic that won the 2nd day, the whole battle, and ultimately the war and Union. December 5, 2006 Antiochus makes a poster for a class contest. (Below) Life is still pretty much boring here.
  10. LII, it seems Bush forgot to write his document for pre-emptive strike without a declaration of war. [/sarcasm] Perhaps he did, maybe it stated something about 'WMDs'. We didn't find any. Good job president. Here's my take on things: We won the war, we kicked a$$. Didn't the troops reach Bahgdad in 21 days? We won the war, but are losing the occupation. War and occupation are two drastically different things. The US can destroy an enemy army with ease, but standing on a street corner playing police is a different thing. Hopefully a lesson is learned. Presidential power should be a little more limited. Congress declaring war is useless when you can send 'em in anyway. Mexican War, Korea, Vietnam, now Iraq.
  11. I just saw the preview in the movie theater this last weekend. It looks pretty good, but purists may not enjoy the goblin-mutants and ect. Even my friend said he'd want to see that movie, and thats a good sign!
  12. I've wondered... couldn't Roma send a spy or something to steal them back? You know... climb a wall here, take it, ride away on a horse in the night...? It'd be hard but not impossible.
  13. I love this place. O_o I see there is a book by none other than our Andrew Dalby in there!
  14. A standard of the Teutoburg, or the sword of any noted Consul.
  15. Haha I saw it right around when it first came out. One of the funniest, brutal movies I've ever seen. "Borat" ruined many a people's career because they said stuff they shouldn't have. I love the Khazakstani national anthem.
  16. Yayayayayaya now I must go see it. I hated the last guy who played bond in the one set in North Korea, in fact I hated it so much I don't remember the title. Looking foreward to this one!
