Huh, aren't we all sunshine patriots? I don't think we're done for. The US has survived through much more dire situations than the ones today. The situations today are even perhaps a bit exaggerated. (As we have already clearly seen after the dawn of war) Exactly. Rome survived a few bad leaders. We can- if we want. Or we can all talk cynically about our problems; just talk and not do anything.

The Great Courses catalog has a variety of lectures given by numerous professors, but this dandy caught my eye: Roman History $519.95 on sale for $109.95??? I may have to check this out! 48 - half hour lectures spanning from 200BC to 200AD on nearly every aspect of Roman culture. There are also lectures on many various different subjects such as physics, calculus, philosophy, and on how to argue. The latter may do well for a lot of people here.

Could women in the empire own property on her own? If not, how did she maintain this land given directly to her? (I guess getting your nose cut off was more effective than putting up a sign in your front lawn!)

Last week I got it back: they want me to edit it and then publish it in their 20's book the history department is compiling. Sweet.
