  1. Octavius - is one of these buildings the so-called 'Regia' in the forum? I don't know what the 'Regia' is. But the Rostra (I am pretty sure) is the podium where speakers spoke to the people from in the Forum. It had the prow (or beak) of an ancient ship on it. The 'hut' was supposedly from the founding of Rome. I hope that I have this right.
  2. That, dearie, is just truly painful. Viggen, that sucks that you've had a run of bad luck. But, things will look up, and life will be better. Silver lining, and all that. And, I'm sure, that GO will come over and help you redecorate...after all, he's already pledged grant/wine money to AD! V., just send me the chit. I'll take care of it. The two P's :notworthy: :notworthy: will teletransport G.S. to do the manual labor. DoL  , I think that Dr. A.D. is stiffing me. P.S. V., are you sure it wasn't caused by what we here in the Colonies call 'Jewish Lightening'? Just realized that I live too close to N. Carnalis  . I'm a dead man!
  3. Thank you all for setting me straight.
  4. I often wonder if the Romans (or any other ancient people) treated their 'ancient' materials as we moderns treat theirs? I am aware of only two (I am sure this is no big surprise hereabouts.); the Rostra and a hut in Rome.
  5. What is D.D's new number? I seem to have lost track of her.
  6. Thanks! As you well know, I am a most generous, and a very honest person and never, but never, tell lies. So: If she  is bad, I will tell you that she is good. Now, if she is really very, very 'BAD" , I'll tell you that she is bad. BTW, what is your new LOVE'S e-mail?
  7. Hmm.... I don't haul water in addition to other "duties". I'm more of an Aspasia than an Antietam Annie. -- Nephele  Doesn't matter. Just don't bring Pericles along.
  8. Class? We're speaking of the sound thrashings the Pats shall administer! Then I am going to spank you, :mummy: , .
  9. Oh! Yo!, y'all. I'm still waiting for PP's explanation for the proper way that Romans and Germans parted. And that translation of the lunatic business by Dr.A.D. Mustn't try the patience of a Legatus Legionis! He'll get and :giljotiini: .
  10. No way Gaius is going to Parthia, but if you are a Neapolitan, you are welcome to go to Andorra with me. For a small donative, I'll make you a tribune. Don Tomasso  I assume that you mean as in (Gen.) Hooker's Women in the U.S. Civil War. Yup!, you're on. (No pun intended!)
  11. If that were in misshagin, the flying flatfeet would have had the furry beast for dinner.
  12. My Lord: :notworthy: Did it never occur to you that it is supposed to be that way, the manly way? If you would like a nice fluffy loaf of bread, then get a white loaf. No nutrition, so it won't contrafibulate with your herbs. Cheaper and less work. I can just imagine Romans ambling off to the local supermarket and: "Ave!, swine, might I have a packet of fresh yeast?" Indeed, instead of having 'tea & crumpets' go for 'tea & spelt bread'. Make your watercress sandwiches with the spelt bread.
  13. P.P., look, I have already been rendered to Wild Moldavia. That was enough for me. Please see: http://www.unrv.com/forum/index.php?automo...p;showentry=521 I am presently guarded by my 'family's' heavily armed 'soldiers'. Eyeran and Eyewreck are off the menu! Andorra would be O.K. They run my kind of businesses thither.
  14. The saga continues. The price of oil has fallen some 30% recently. What is happening? Some conspiracy trying to put Eyeran and Venezuela out of business? Haven't had my gas guzzler out of the barn since Christmas, so I have no idea about local prices of petrol.
  15. After all is said and done, it is true; Nero lives! Insurance companies aren't in the business of paying off. Silly idea. Good luck with the scheisters.
  16. UNRV: What's happening? I was just getting used to being a "Quaestor" and preparing to get my paws on the lucre. Now this! Don't all y'all trust me? I know that I am a genius and otherwise wondrous, but I am '4F'! I think that this stuff has something to do with armies and mayhem - not in my hard drive. I have other folks to do that work for me. Why don't you, quickly and simply, make me a Dictator or Consul or Emperor or all three and have done with it? As 'head' of a 'family', I am very good at this kind of thing.
  17. FVC: "Teutonic Amber Eaters"; Finster von Schwartzkoph, translated by Dr. Eigon Schmeck; Piknikplatz Press, Gmbh, 1949. -------------------------------- Dr. A.D.: Will provide necessary funds. Await translation.
  18. Despite my general belief that Manning is wildly overrated, I believe he may finally earn his reputation and beat the Patriots. :usaflag:
  19. If one says "Go to Naples" in Neapolitan, it ain't exactly nice. There is one of the most intact and largest Greek temples on the outskirts. The food will be excellent. Put pad locks on your pockets. You :alien: had to be told that Italian women  were tops? Hah? Take :mummy: with you.
  20. The forerunner of modern pizza. I thought that the Roman soldier was fed meat at least once a day?
  21. I think That Roman relics have been found in Ireland recently. Don't know what it means. Might have been in one of Viggens archaeological posts.
