  1. I don't like saying this, and all other things aside, the Guantanamo prisoners are not U.S. 'persons', and thus not entitled to any Constitutional protection. Their leaders declared war on the entire non-Moslem world. I don't think that the Geneva conventions apply to them either, as they were not in uniform and could have been executed.
  2. Please do, and welcome aboard.
  3. Keep in mind that Christianity is not Judaism. How do we know that Jesus was a great Person? If it is from the New Testament, then why is the rest of the Testament not to be accepted?
  4. See http://www.unrv.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5735 for more on subject.
  5. In my opinion, the problem with Cicero is that he danced to the tune of power. If Augustus was a 'terrorist and rebel', what was Antony?
  6. Yes, a harbinger of today's government's extra-legal and extra-constitutional actions. All children of perfidy.
  7. I wouldn't vouch for reliability, but it is interesting: http://www.florilegium.org/files/PERSONAL/...l-care-msg.html http://www.florilegium.org/files/PERSONAL/...ygiene-msg.html Baking soda today. Smegma? Urine? And dung to fill teeth?
  8. Agreed! Wait till MPC sets eyes on your post. :sp_ike:
  9. Religiously, aren't all 'children of God'? It's the context in which it is used. That is why the meaning of the Bible is left to scholars.
  10. D.C., I hope that you are right about the 'legends'. I never discount them. Would be fun, especially for all the people who would have to eat crow - cold.

  12. If the Romans didn't have a germ theory, was myrrh added as an anti-bacterial or for some other purpose?
  13. My Gracious Lord :notworthy: : Take a peek: http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/sear5/s0050.html N.B. Once again, someone is driving me nuts sabotaging my post. I know who he is this time. He shall pay exquisitely. :sneaky2:
  14. Spittle, I believe that you are correct. Nonetheless, I was speaking in general terms and not of co-emperors or of contending 'emperors'. Each Emperor had two Caesars.

  19. Pertinaxid! Another one Dr. Johnson missed. :notworthy: I have added it to mine. Will there be any Pertinaxid comments on MY recipe for that Dutch bread?
  20. Do you have a link to that post, or if not, were such artifacts attributed to trade or raiding? No, I don't have the link. Sorry. The question is: were the artifacts from trade, raids or some Roman outpost.
  21. Forgot to mention that the Arabs have camel racing in Dubai and there abouts.
  22. FVC, try 'Common Sense'. That is always a useful commodity.
