brotus maximus replied to phil25's topic in Arena
i highly doubt that look who they had as the last president "bush jr" ya he caught saddam but anything else he do right??? i am not bashing americans but there is this standerd out there that i have noticed that up here in canada at least in the part of alberta that i am(full of redeck albertans eeeekkk ) that americans in general have their heads up their asses about somethings( reminded that i am not bashing americans) ya they voted for the other guys this time and got i think the demacrats (somehow i dont think anything will change much) ya u guys might be a military might, but one day someone else will be better then you and have more economy then you(china for instance and north korea-army wise i think)for instance canada is already becoming a superpower slowly((very slowly)too slowly for me though) the country i think that is most near to perfection (here the black ninja strikes again hehe) canada of course then followed by the other commonwealth countrys(you know who you are hehe) remember i am not bashing i am just saying what i see about somethings riddick B.M -

personally for me i think it is good news that saddam is geting the death penalty, personally i think that hanging is a bad way for him to die to slow i say firing squad or the old fashioned public stoning would serve him right

Death and Warrior Cults
brotus maximus replied to brotus maximus's topic in Templum Romae - Temple of Rome
Oddly enough in Rome at least, Hercules was more of a Merchant cult It is an intersting question. I think Brotus, you may need to be more specific in what you are seaking. That being said, in Greece any systematic worship of Ares could perhaps be deamed a warrior cult... In Rome, one might me tempted in saying that the Salii represented a warrior cult due to their priesthood to Mars but they were actually more agricultural in nature. Bellona might be better sought as a figurehead in this case; however, the Bellonarii who wounded themselves during sacrifices on the Dies Sanguinis were actually cult firgures from a 'different' Bellona brought back from Cappadocia during the Mithridatic War... Now for Death Cults.. Most of the ancient Mystery Religions fit that bill. to be more specific i think or the most specific i can be any way is that through out history there has been religions and stuff that deal with death and warriors and i guess to be more specific, i would have to say is that with rome if there were these kinds of religions what were the most common ones and wich gods/godesses and such werwe represented in the religions riddick B.M -

Death and Warrior Cults
brotus maximus replied to brotus maximus's topic in Templum Romae - Temple of Rome
warrior cults i think and were there any in rome(and roman territory) becuase i remember hearing that the egyptians were famous for different religios aspects such as the i think the crocidile stuff -
my question is with the wide array of selections for religions were there cults and where there death cults and w2arrior cults and if so which gods and goddesses(and or deitys) did they use

well for me it started probably (if i remember correctly) at around the age of twelve when the teachers started teaching us about different wars and by that i god hooked and as the years progressed i wondered what other wars happened besides ww 1 & 2 so i looked into it and i found rome and all of (please excuse the expression but....) her greatness with her vast armies and weaponry and (it was becuase of me reading a greek history book that i found out about romes military might and all) and ever since then i have been hooked for rome. mostly the weaponry and the tactics i like and i am slowly coming on to other stuff like the battles themselfes (the punic wars are pretty cool to learn about and learning about). ya thats what i like about rome and also the fact that they at their prime were the most advanced race(can u call them a race or a culture) to exist ever

brotus maximus replied to FLavius Valerius Constantinus's topic in Hora Postilla Thermae
Eh tu Brute? I rather think that is why so many people have developed apoplexy over this particular "dynamic hypothetical interface". Seriously: please avoid "matches" that have no congruity in terms of epoch or proximity. As has been said Phalanx versus Legion is acceptable for debate . ps: I see Brutus is in Birthday mood! and i was in a birthday mood i was great that day and u lost me at Eh tu Brute please explain ur words for a simple person like my self(no mean stuff intended btw) and way if u could just explain what ya mean that would be great
