  2. You know this community is amazing, the latest giveaway Ancient Warfare Magazine Special has already over 200 entries, (so drop quickly a line that you are interested if you haven`t yet), the amazing thing though is how many people are actually dropping a little line, "how they like the site, how they appreciate the community, how they look forward to all the freebies, the book reviews etc... but most of all, that many want to give back, they tell me almost apologetic that they dont have the capacity or the knowledge to write articles or the skills to write a review but would still like to help the site. Very often, they mention that they would like to donate a few dollars to keep the site running. (btw. i reply to each and everyone in person) Well, there it is, the Admins are thirsty page ...the cool thing about it is, that in the last 7 years we have been giving back almost all of the revenue that the ads bring in, in form of giveaways, review books etc., so if we get a beer, be assured that the community will get a big sip of it, as Seneca wisely stated "We should give as we would receive, cheerfully, quickly, and without hesitation; for there is no grace in a benefit that sticks to the fingers." ...and now cheers!

  5. Haha, I knew that this Cypriot wine would be an insufficient offering to the gods! It would have been a much better offering to me, though. Damn, I should have proactively announced an acceptance of bribes. (Wouldn't have worked of course, since Viggen has the hat with all the names in it, but I suppose you could send him something. I hear Austrians love Kangaroos.) ....hehe, there are no Kangaroos in Austria http://www.sagen.at/texte/gegenwart/IMAGES/kangaroos.jpg

  18. Graves' seminal work, which is also well known from its British TV offering, is dense. It's not for those looking for nice light beach reading. I, Claudius is an exceedingly well-crafted history of the first four Emperors of the Roman Empire - roughly from 30 B.C. when Augustus rose to sole power, through Tiberius and Caligula, to 41 A.D. when Caligula is murdered, and Claudius is declared emperor... ...read the full review of I, Claudius by Robert Graves
