Could this be the source?

It's kinda hard to tell from this picture but the center strata of this geode is exactly the same color & has the same properties (to my non-geologist eyes) as the "Neolithic Trinket"

 

If my assumtion that my little green artifact was for ceremonial use, is this not a likely place for someone to quarry from? Considering how most people feel about geodes?

conchoidal fracture lines, like the "dark " heads so I vote for chert (SI O2) , I think you were right in your earlier comment.The hardness is 7 on moh's scale (not Mo's tavern),and was the "must have" base material of many hunting people's, not least because of this specific fracture tendency.
