Arable that has been "opened up" and left in a state of disorder- topsoil having been moved across site, a good example is where the poppies flourish when earth is heaped up randomly during road building. Its allso the reason we wear Poppies as remembrance to our war dead (In Britain anyway,not sure about the rest of the world) once a year.Poppies grow all over battle fields (Somme,etc) because of the disturbance the Artillery caused to the top soil.
