Do Not Mess Up My Show!

Antiochus of Seleucia

Valete et plaudite!

It had finally come! The night of the big game! Probably one of the biggest events of the year, homecoming is our special football game. I am in band, as you probably know, and the band has been practicing our field show meneuvers for a long time. We spent an 8-hours-a-day week at band camp, and 2-3 hours every Mondey thereafter to learn all the new music, chants, and field patterns for the knowingly ungrateful crowd. You may have heard me complain (poking fun) several times about all the work, especially if we had to brave bad weather.

Tonight was the big night, the day we've been practicing for for so long. Sadly it was raining. Hard. We weren't going to quit though; we had come this far.

It is a common fact/tradition for there to be scantily-clad men to try to run across the field and escape. It is rather entertaining to watch 'security' tackle and smite these people. They get cited by the police and get a rather costly($100+) fine. Unfortunately, they pick a bad time to do it- during our performance!

As we waited in the endzone for the other performers to set a stage quickly in the middle of the field, I resolved to myself that if any of those ba$tards ran near me I would tackle him (Even though I am not really a violent person, mind you). There were sooo many 'streakers' this night, the most I have ever seen at a game. Guys in cow costumes/thongs/boxers, you name it!

Right before we started our show, I was to test the strength of my resolve.

Some skinny little fellow made it across the field towards our single file of clarinets. Two 'boxer patrol' officers came at him from both flanks. He was trapped between our line and a guy right at his other flank. The only way to make his escape was to run down past our line with an officer at his tail. Unfortunately for Skinny, I was near the end of that line, I had just made a resolve.

I won't go into any details as to how I took him down, but let's just say his head wasn't going anywhere. I didn't hurt him, don't worry about that.

Yes, I tackled a boxer-clad streaker.

Interesting results: I got hugs from some people, and I was asked, "Who tackled the streaker? Tell me his name so I can beat him up!" three different times. My actions will lead me to some murky waters in the near future(next week), but it is a small price to pay for a scrap of justice. I don't mind 'streakers' during a timeout or something, but nobody streaks through this "band geek's" show! :chair: Picture

The show was called off halfway through because it started pouring...

Between streakers and weather, do you think that the gods are trying to tell all y'all something? :P

Noted that you didn't mention who won.

If you need some protection, please advise. :P This type of service is provided by a certain organization. :2guns:
