Sadly enough school starts in two more days. This year I am traditionally tasked with searching for a college. The only problem is I really don't know what I want to do for a living. Despite that, I will be looking closely at the University of Madison. Hopefully my future job/career will be something different than the 8-hours-a-day-monotony that most people have. Perhaps the Italian and Russian I will learn in college will help achieve that. Maybe I'll name my future house 'HQ'.

 

For the time being I must await the arrival of my book I won- That made my day. I only won one other contest in my life... Long time ago I drew a picture for some lego contest and won a bunch of free legos and t-shirts. :ph34r:

 

My newest goal is to figure out a way to make some money through my photoshop work. ^_^

No trouble for where Rameses will go. I'm going to the University of Penn State along with my two brothers and sister. They'll probably graduate by the time I'm there though. :hammer: Anyways, I hope you find a good college. Completing 4 years of a language and getting a lot of credits in will help.

 

If you know a secondary language... :thumbs_up:

I have already taken spanish for four years. :hammer: The problem is that I haven't used it at all this summer, but it all comes back quickly each year. As for credits, I pack in the classes each year, so next year- my last year, I will only have 4-6 credits left allowing me to take classes at the local 'college' as well as my high school classes.

In my opinion, all students should have a good grounding in economics and accounting so that they will have an idea as to what they will do with the loot they will accumulate in later life and not be dependent on the 'advice' of brokers.

I actually took a really informative semester of economics a couple years ago. We certainly got the basics down. I don't know how much there really is to know about economics though. I learned a lot though! If I get totally stumped I may just have to ask you. :hammer:

I didn't know what I wanted to do either really, and I put off college until I figure it out. I'm glad I did, because now I realize that if I had gone to RIT like I had originally wanted to and studied there, I wouldn't have been happy because my interests changed.

I agree, get something under your belt - it'll probably help you determine what you want to do. If you do find a passion later, at least you'll have the earning potential to fund more education.

L_W, go to school and take the 'required' courses. They will get you started and then you can go into anything you choose without losing time. Since inflation will undoubtedly drive up the cost of your courses and materials in the future, you will be ahead in the money game.

True, but I already had other plans and reasons that those plans could not wait to long :hammer: I've had these plans for several years, and I hope they won't fall thru at the last minute.
