I Just Had To Share

OMG, I just got an email from my aunt, my cousin Jennifer Founds (my little Jenny!!) has just started singing professionally, and will be touring soon. Jenny is such an AMAZING singer, a good actress and I hear is getting good on a guitar to. I AM SO PROUD of my little Jenny (now not so little anymore). I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! I can't wait to see her!!!

My mom and I just got back from shopping, we figured out what we are going to do for under my graduation gown, one of those dresses like the Roman women wore (or what they may have worn. As my mom says, "what the Vestal Virgins wear in all the movies". I think it's called a Pella?). My mom is an awesome maker of weird clothes, I have a knitted "legionary tunic" now (I'm serious. LOL it does actually look really awesome). She's going to make it. I also found this most amazing dress (almost in the same style but it's navy blue) at a thrift store, for $6. I just HAD TO HAVE IT it fits perfectly.

We had another bomb scare at school on thursday (second one in two weeks) they made us go home without all of our stuff. Andy found a baby bird though, it couldn't open its eyes but otherwise it seems quite healthy and SO cute. Odessa took it home. She named it "Stick". They then locked all the bathrooms except for one (the bomb threats were written on the bathroom walls.) and students now have to go in one at a time, sign in to the bathroom, and the stalls are checked after you leave

My grandad is actively seeking a Ford Escape for me

Nooooo, DO NOT get that vehicle. I've worked with cars for about 7 years, and I can assure you that it is a bonafide lemon - judging from the several that I've come in contact with. Brakes jobs are costly and frequent, engine and transmission problems even at low mileage. If you absolutely must get one get the latest model year, since it will have more bug worked out than a several year old one.

Whatever you get, read plenty of reviews from actual owners (not a media publication), and do not get a newly released model.

Just trying to save you some headaches and frustration.

Thanks, I'll pass that on to my grandad. He's decided that's what I will have lol...

My mom yelled at me when I just told her what you said. "How can you believe that?? When somebody else is buying it and that's what they want to buy you..."

I'm talking to my grandad right now and he says that everyone he knows who has them absolutely loves them and hasn't had problems. He also says theres alot of problems with 2001 because its the first year they were made.

No doubt Moonlapse, Ford is a terrible car. It gets stuck in the snow, it takes up soo much gas, and it costs too much for its on good. You should try a Japanese car. They are a lot more durable, and it will not break in 3 years.

Just my opinion. Just go to the mall and glance at the cars. Most of them are Japanese, my brother that goes to Penn State drives a Civic, and makes it look so easy. My sister had a pontiac, and after two years it was the most beat up thing I have ever seen. And she drives a lot better than my brother!

I hope everything works out well for you Lost Warrior. :)

Lol everyone in my family drives Ford though. Fat chance getting anything else. My grandad will only buy Ford, my mom drives a Ford (also likes Volkswagen, those are good cars) and my dad has several Fords.

I wanted a Pontiac. I hear they are high maintanance though. Chevys aren't bad either, I've driven them and I like them, but my grandad won't hear of it.

You know, its funny. There are two "gangs" in Sullivan County (where I live): Ford, and Chevy. If you express a preference for either one, there will be a fight.

With the exception of my dad's pickup, though, and a Windstar one of our friends had, I've never heard of much problems with Ford. I rather like them. My mom's 91 Explorer (called an "exploder" by those who drive them) would climb a tree as long as there was snow on it.

Every manufacturer has 'good' and 'bad' products. Most vehicles will be fairly reliable with regular maintenance and most vehicles can be prematurely ruined without it. I mentioned the problems with the Escape because I see them as design flaws (which may be remedied in newer years)

It is also a good point that you should be grateful for any gift, especially something as expensive as a vehicle. However, I always think its best if there are no regrets involved, again with something as expensive as a vehicle.

::smiles:: I am greatful, lol if it weren't for my gramps I probably would not get a car for years yet and when I did it would be an "old toady".

I'm actually not getting an Escape now because it's much too expensive to ensure, and we decided against it. I'm likely going to end up with a Taurus, which I've driven before and really like the way it handles. Or a Focus. I've never driven a Focus, but they have better gas milage than a Taurus (according to MSN Auto and Consumer Guides). But the Focus is more expensive to ensure as well.

We're going Monday to see what we can find, I may be getting a car Monday!! I can't wait!!

Also, I only have to go to school on Wednesday of next week, then commencement is on Friday night. :sqeal:
