MY NEW LAPTOP IS HERE!!!!

Her name is Josie. I had to practically chase the mailman to get her but she's HERE!!!!

I spent a few frustrating hours getting her set up, but now I'm laying on the couch watching TV and posting blogs like a good little lazy techie. :D

It took a little while, but I'm getting used to the keyboard and touchpad and I LOVE IT!!!!!

:D :D :D :D

Now if only Kitten would get on so I can bug him on webcam. :D

Tomorrow is Friday. ME SO HAPPY!!!

I didn't think I would, but I love the Google desktop. I was trying to figure out how to turn the damn thing off when I realized "hey I kinda like this" so I started playing with it. It's really neat! I put the scratchpad gadget on mine. Purdy!!! :D

I did see my fuzzball on webcam. We talked for like an hour or so LOL.

I will have a good day tomorrow.

I'm getting used to this keyboard and touchpad. It's not so bad when I have the thing at the right level/angle.

Unlike what some people say, it's really not hot at all. The bottom is only a little warm. And the fan is not loud, although the speakers aren't great, they're not bad either. :D

I have a beanbag chair and a laptop. No more debating between Simpsons and blogging. :D

Congratulations on the new acquisition! Ooo, her name is "Josie"? Could that be short for "Josepha"? Because, if she's a well-mannered little laptop, her full name could be "Josepha T. Polite" (anagram of "Josie the Laptop").

You knew that was coming, right?

ROTFL Yep, I knew, you couldn't resist. You never can, can you?

But no, it's just Josie. That's what she told me her name was, anyway. Electronics behave better if you name them properly. :D

Google Desktop search beats the hell out of windows' search. I have almost 200 GB of data and it's practically a necessity in order to find some things.

Here's some recommendations for keeping your stuff secure, all free:

Firewall - Comodo (advanced) or Online Armor

Anti-malware - Spyware Terminator (HIPS capability, but don't enable the Clam AV) and Threatfire (behavioral capability) Each works differently, and seem to work well together. If you are using Comodo or Online Armor with all options turned on, you won't really need these and it may cause conflicts)

Firefox Addons - McAfee Site Advisor or WOT (better than Site Advisor IMO) and NoScript

Antivirus (if you don't already have it) - McAfee VirusScan Plus (has own firewall - disable if using separate firewall) or AVG or Avast!

Ah. I'm running ZoneAlarm Firewall, Adaware 2007 anti-spyware, and AVG anti-virus. :D

I rarely use my Windows search for ANYTHING. I might use it like once a month LOL. I like the 'scratchpad' gadget on Google Desktop. :D
